| Yes, but we know that poster is a cranky troll looking to stir things up. You are thoughtful and progressive, which is why I’m struggling to wrap my head around this particular block. When woke first began to float into common parlance, it was with a a badge of honor; it’s only been when people who love the status quo have felt threatened that they took woke and turned it into a cudgel. Their anger is a reflection of their narrow mindedness and fear, not a declaration of the value or lack thereof of being - or writing - woke. |

| Yes - that all may be true. But it's just another example of the right co-opting a term for their own ugly purposes ("fake news" was similarly twisted around from its original intent to become a right wing war cry), and for me, it's just become a term I don't want to deal with because of that. | |
