| Imagine the pearl-clutching if two men were to win. People would say the same thing. “It used to honor one man and one woman, and now two men got the award. Who is this helping??? It should totally change but still stay the same!” They can’t win. If gender isn’t a thing, then they’ve removed it from consideration, as people have wanted. Then they’ve voted on a “best.” What would it mean to select two from a list as “best”? That’s not what the word “best” means. |
