Yes, the second act really drags especially when the lead actor doesn’t have the star power to compel you through the proceedings. You just kind of don’t care what happens to him after a while. He just comes off as a nasty narcissist. And the music doesn’t shine in that second act.
I liked Billy Porter in this. Satisfactorily sassy. He definitely should be playing in Hadestown.
