Yes, that "Weekend in the Country" is quite odd for the reason you state.
I'll have to dig it out to listen to "Not a Day Goes By." Does it also use the wrong note that was in the sheet music in the middle section? I need to listen.
I've got to correct something I wrote in the earlier post. There was a complete two-CD release of the 42nd Street. And I should perhaps add that while most of the ones I mentioned were issued only with 12 tracks, generally running around 45 minutes, the Brigadoon and Annie were issued on CDs lasting around an hour, although there was also a shorter release of the Annie. I'm not sure how much more Annie there might be as the hour-long version includes the entr'acte, the curtain-calls music, and the exit music. |
