I saw this last night and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It has more heart than I anticipated and didn't feel like a by-the-numbers retelling of the book. There are still some issues that I hope they work out before opening. The biggest thing coming to mind is that I loved the integration of circus arts, especially in some of the more emotional scenes, but some of it was getting unintentional laughter so obviously wasn't resonating with part of the audience.
All and all though, I really enjoyed it. |
