Thank you! Great information. I couldn't see any visible sign that the people onstage had been pre-selected, so this is great information if/when people ask.

For what it's worth, I just walked on stage - I had not registered beforehand or anything. Which is why it looked like people just sat down - tons of people went onstage (including me). Some got a drink and then sat down. I didn't see anyone holding cards or anything, although perhaps I would have had I known to look.

I also did not see bartenders in the aisles handing out shots. It's possible they were, just on the aisles closer to the entrance to the theatre (near the 100s), since that is where the bartenders and drinks come from. I used an aisle at the opposite end (near the 400s, where the stage is when it's not in the round). From what I could tell all the staff there were herding people, not handing out drinks. (I know one of the ushers, so I said a quick hello to him and was actually pretty conscious of what was happening, at least at the 400s end, since he clearly had a LOT more to do here than during other shows.)

mikem asked where I was sitting- Row B in the 200s (odd side), a bit left of center (closer to the 400s). The people next to me were closer to the aisle than I was, but definitely not on the aisle, which perhaps is why they didn't make it back. No idea if that was their choice or not though.
