What Cole is really doing in Mary is exposing decades of right wing historian/journalist bullshit about the true relationship between Mary Todd and Abe Lincoln in a very hilarious and outrageous manner.
I can remember Rush Limbaugh on Sunday morning Fox News programs insisting that Abe shared his bed every night with a good looking soldier because the White House didn't have a central heating system. To which someone like Mike Barnicle would retort, "Why didn't he just get an extra blanket?" |
