And there's another angle that may have been considered. I cannot imagine that this show has had much of a life in non-professional theatres or at lower level professional companies. And I can understand that the reason for that might be that the sets and costumes that a "traditional" SUNSET BOULEVARD would require might be beyond the limited budgets or capabilities of smaller theatres. But this production may encourage theatre-makers at all levels to take another look at the piece and reimagine it, if not exactly in the way that this production does, in a way that could work with their company/space.
This could lead to a lot more future revenue for this title for Really Useful. |
