The Heart of Rock and Roll Tonight

TDF granted me first row front mezzanine seats tonight for The Heart of Rock and Roll. What perfect seats. I enjoyed the singing and dancing throughout and this is better than some of the biopic musicals we’ve had to sit through. If you are a Corey Cott fan and I am wholeheartedly, you will be in heaven. He is wonderful in this and appears to have worked out for months. There are some entertaining dance numbers from Lorin Latarro. The sound design was well done, too, so the upbeat songs aren’t overamplified. I liked the cast overall. This isn’t a musical for the Guettel or Sondheim crowd but fans of the songs of Huey Lewis and the News should have a good time.
