| Some fascinating comments, but "delightfully batty" is just about the last phrase I'd have used to describe Julia McKenzie's (stone-cold brilliant) take on Mrs. Lovett. She was a slatternly, amoral backstreet pragmatist, she didn't lean into the laughs, and there were places where she seemed far more malevolent than Sweeney. |
