When I saw Evan Hansen suddenly a voice came on saying there was a technical issue and would the actors please leave the stage. Ben Platt and Rachel Bay Jones obediently walked off and the house lights came up for about 15 minutes.
My most memorable mishap (sort of) occurred when I was a kid and was seeing The House of Blue Leaves. It was a Wednesday matinee. The third act seemed sort of late starting. Everyone was in their seats. A rather befuddled man came out and said Danny Aiello was missing and the understudy is getting changed. The intermission then continued for a while. I always wondered where Aiello was and why they didn't notice his absence sooner. |
