Not to mention last year's winner, English, which is set in Iran and is about Iranians (learning English, but still).
Public Obscenities at least has two American characters in it, although the play is set in India.
But yeah - the qualifier "preferably" is key, and seems to be something that is far from determinative. Other factors seem to weigh more heavily, especially in recent years. |
