The Great Waltz and Onna White

I've been watching a movie from 1972 called The Great Waltz with some nice Onna White choreography. It's on Watch TCM. The waltz may be "great," but it's not a great movie. It's written, produced and directed by Andrew Stone who made the terrible but enjoyable Song Of Norway two years earlier (choreographed by Lee Theodore).

Pennies From Heaven is also on Watch TCM and I whizzed through to the numbers. It was fun to see Tommy Rall and Christopher Walken and Bernadette Peters again. Steve Martin can really dance, but he often seems to be poking fun at the dancing, so he ruins it for me. The others play it cool and they shine. Bernadette is very good in the movie. The movie itself doesn't work, but it was a good try by Herbert Ross and Nora Kaye. Ross was dissed in the recent Feud: Capote/Swans. I always give him an A for effort, even for Funny Lady!
