Yes. Nielsen was below the title and should've competed in Featured, but the Tonys bumped her up to Leading, basically robbing her of her prize.
There was no way Nielsen, or anyone else, was beating Cicely Tyson, then a 88-year-old legend. (But Nielsen won Featured Actress at the Outer Critics.)
