| Jerry Herman had a trio of flops after "Dolly!" and "Mame" and before "La Cage aux Folles." Encores! has done the first two, "Dear World" and "Mack and Mabel"; "The Grand Tour" is the third. It would be suitable for Encores! but I suspect the current powers that be would consider "The Grand Tour" too mild to take up. And the title has never had the attraction of "Dear World" or "Mack and Mabel." |
