| I saw the show and did not get any of that at all. And I had not read the novel or seen any of the movies, so was not predisposed to be looking for west/east themes. Even West and East Egg I interpreted as more of a ficional riff on West or East Hampton, like just playing with place names in Long Island the viewer might already be familiar with. |
