| Years ago (early 90's) I played piano for a community theatre production that tried to add back a whole bunch of the cut songs. IIRC, most of them were sung by supporting characters in an attempt to give them more stage time, which made some of the songs too far removed from their original intentions. They also added the Weissman final speech and "Beautiful Girls" reprise from the original concert production. Nowadays they'd never get away with all those changes. |
