Luckily, when I saw The Connector, there was no one near me responding inappropriately. I find off-Broadway audiences are usually better behaved than Broadway audiences, but I've also had some bad experiences, including a drunk woman sitting right in front of me who was totally out of control.

I'd be interested in reading what someone as knowledgeable as you about musical theater thought of The Connector. I think it's one of JRB's best scores. I didn't understand Jesse Green's criticism: "unlike the shapely, strongly hooked songs he wrote for “Parade,” “The Last Five Years,” “13” and “Honeymoon in Vegas,” many of those in “The Connector” meander, as if looking for a point, or to avoid one."
