There's been a lot of discussion about Operation Mincemeat on BWW, although you may have to do a search to find it. The musical is based on a true story that's been filmed twice: an American movie in the 50's The Man Who Never Was with Broadway actor Clifton Webb and Oklahoma! actress Gloria Grahame and then by the Brits a few years ago titled Operation Mincemeat with Colin Firth.

It's a pretty serious story about espionage. I can't quite figure out how they turned it into a musical comedy. I believe the musical is filled with irony and is more witty than laugh out loud funny. There was a discussion about it on ATC a month or so ago about it.
