Who is responsible for the "overamplification?"

I opened that review with the hope that the show's overamplification would be criticized. Happy to see it in print. Took my children to see the show in Los Angeles, and though they know the story quite well, none of them could understand ANY of the lyrics. They were so frustrated. I left the theater livid that I'd spent nearly $500 on tickets (and I didn't splurge. We sat in the back balcony) to hear garbled singing. Shame on whoever is responsible for letting this happen. This was a constant complaint during the show's tour and yet it was never addressed before opening on Broadway. Ridiculous.
I have to disagree that the visuals were too much, though. What visuals? I thought the set looked like a community theater production.
