Since I first saw SOUTH PACIFIC productions during high school it's been one of my least favorite Hammerstein lyrics. It just never seemed natural at all for Cable to speak this way.
As a teen I'd just roll my eyes and think, "God, I really hope I never have to try to pull off that song."
