| It looks like Michael Esper is having a good day. Besides getting noticed among Time Out New York's TONY* nominations, he just got a Drama Desk nomination for Featured Actor in a Play for ''Appropriate.'' GoldDerby.com recently interviewed Esper and cited him among Tony's most ''deserving contenders.'' As good as Corey Stoll is in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' compelling comedy-drama, Esper actually has the flashier and more challenging role, especially as his character's dark family secrets start spilling out. As someone who thought Esper should've been award-nominated for ''The Lyons'' (2012) and ''The Last Ship'' (2014), I'm hoping he'll finally be ''Appropriately'' rewarded with his first Tony recognition tomorrow morning. | |
