| I don't believe Dolores Gray ever played Dolly Levi, although you never know. The Jerry Herman diva role Gray was strongly considered for was Mame. It has been said that Gray and Nanette Fabray were finalists along with the lady who got the role, Angela Lansbury, in one of the most perfect pieces of musical casting ever. |
