| Christopher Durang's ''Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike'' won the 2013 Tony for Best Play in June, but only closed a few months later on Aug. 25. I always wished they had recast and at least played through the end of the year. Instead, it wrapped up after only 200 performances. By the way, there's a reading of ''Vania and Sonia'' to benefit Lincoln Center Theater on Tues., May 7, with much of the original cast. It'll return with Sigourney Weaver, David Hyde Pierce and Kristine Nielsen, but David Hull will fill in for Billy Magnusson. (Is Linda Lavin playing Cassandra?) |
