Also, I tend to think that in the 20's and 30's, adaptations were more the exception than the rule. Exceptions such as The Boys From Syracuse, A Connecticut Yankee and Show Boat were adaptations, but No, No, Nanette, Of Thee I Sing, Strike Up The Band, The Cocoanuts, Animal Crackers, Babes In Arms, and many others were original. |
