I was on vacation out of the country when it opened in January. I did not like the musical that much on stage. But I really liked the movie. I felt that the lower level energy worked for the movie adaptation. The song kept worked and dance seemed to integrate better than a lot of other musical movies. I also liked the casting by not using stars. In my book this movie musical adaptation is one of the better ones.
