I see reviews of Ludlam's Grand Tarot in 1971, though that was two year's after it was written. (Big Hotel was in 1967.) I was surprised it was that early as I first heard about him around the time of A Christmas Carol (1979).
I'm not sure about Busch. I don't think any of his work at One Sheridan Square was covered. The first I remember reading about him was when he was at Limbo Lounge in the early '80s.
And I have no idea why the Times drags its feet posting reviews online. I know there is limited space in print, but you write the review edit it and hit "Publish"; it takes little time and no space. Even if theater stories don't get a lot of views, the longer a story is up, the more clicks it will get.
whatever...the Times coverage of arts and sports has mystified my for a few years now. |
