| I recently counted and found that I've seen 33 of the main Encopres! series and 10 of the Off-Center. So far fewer than a number of folks here, including you. My favorites, not in any order except for the first: Paint Your Wagon (all-time favorite) Juno The Golden Apple The Boys From Syracuse Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Those Hugh Martin vocal arrangements! They really made this one, plus particularly good period-perfect performances from Rachel York and Aaron Lazar.) Pipe Dream Little Me Allegro Promenade It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman (Those spectacular Eddie Sauter orchestrations) God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater But I had a very good time at a bunch of others. There were some of shows that I love or like a lot, but that fell down in some crucial areas, but were still enjoyable. Truth is that a few of my favorites fell down in some crucial areas, but they were shows that I like a lot and wanted so much to see onstage, and I was very glad to see them. There were a few outright duds, but I won't mention those by title. |
