| As others mentioned, it closed in Chicago in June 1997 after going to a small amount of cities - Denver, Cincinnati, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa, Minneapolis, St Louis and Chicago. Her performance, to me, was grand - although she and the rest of the cast were greatly out shadowed by the air of the show itself - hell the living room received a standing ovation. I saw the final night in Chicago and went to the stage door afterwards - I was surprised there was only say 5 of us there but she was very kind and while it was clear that she was headed to a wrap party, she stuck around for a few minutes after Ron Bohmer and Ed Dixon (who were also very kind at the door to us, but clearly wanting a stiff drink) and couldn't have been nicer. The next day we saw her in the lobby of the hotel as she had been staying there and then again chatted it up with us for about 30 minutes while clearly having other things on her agenda for the day. Saw her a few times after that throughout the years and again, always gracious and kind of remembered me/us somewhat. Surprised to see about her passing here, too. |
