It was also very odd to end the main segment with Tina Turner, who was of course a legend but not because of her acting career. According to IMDB, the only roles she ever had on film (aside from music videos and concerts and such) were in Tommy and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, along with cameos in 2 other films.

Speaking of the Oscars, I did not know until today that Cillian Murphy won the Drama Desk in 2012 for Solo Performance for Misterman at St Ann's Warehouse. Did anyone see him in that show? I don't think either Murphy or Robert Downey Jr have ever appeared on Broadway. Emma Stone was in Cabaret and Da'Vine Joy Randolph was Tony-nominated for Ghost.

I also learned today that I saw Da'Vine Joy Randolph in a local production of Hair in 2007. She was one of the ensemble, and I can't say I remember her at all. It looks that production also had Alyse Alan Louis, who played Hillary Clinton in Soft Power, and Jaime Cepero, who played the conniving Ellis in Smash. They all must have been 20 or 21 at the time.
