| THE definitive Sweeney? The thing about the word definitive is that there can be only one. As far as I'm concerned, this is not even close to being in the same class as the original Broadway production, and I would be reluctant to declare that production definitive for at least two reasons: I haven't seen every production of the show, and it was less good with the replacement leads. But generally speaking, definitive is a word I avoid using about productions of much-produced shows. |
