I felt the same. I can pick a lot of holes in it - it's intellectually sloppy, not everything in it has been thought through as clearly as it should have been, the director's various flourishes aren't as original as he'd like to think they are, and there are some irritatingly cutesy self-referential choices that undercut the production's overall tone. But so much of it is so thrilling that whatever reservations I had about elements of the production ended up being oddly irrelevant. It's superbly sung and visually breathtaking, and an absolutely dazzling experience (and, yes, the last ten minutes are remarkable) - and there's a lot to pull apart afterwards. It is absolutely worth seeing, and I'm sorry I didn't get the opportunity to go back and see Rachel Tucker as well as Nicole Scherzinger.

I will say this: while I did have a number of issues with the production, taking the show out of the mansion and giving it a more abstract presentation absolutely was not a problem. It's different, yes, and sometimes quite startling, and not everything in it completely adds up, but it's also very, VERY entertaining. I had a better time at this production at the Savoy than I had at the Glenn Close revival at the Coliseum.
