I don't know who Dave Mallory is, but he didn't have anything to do with The Witches at the National. That was Dave Malloy.
I liked The Witches a lot more than you did (and a lot more than The Little Big Things, in which a winning cast were wasted on a book and score that reduced the source material to two hours of trite slogans), but it wasn't his best work.
