| And that is because the Bette Davis didn't do a Broadway show in the 80's and the book is wrong. However, she did some appearances in the 80's in conjunction with her album, Miss Bette Davis sings. For her to have begun those with "What a dump," seems plausible (more than beginning Carl Sandburg that way). Likely that's what the author is referring to. Calling something a Broadway show even when the piece in question never played Broadway is a fairly common mistake. | |
