| " . . . a musical with no dancers and no choreography". I'd assert that your premise if flawed. The show is the book and the score. The directorial concepts that were used in the original or any other production are no more or less valid than any other directorial choice as to how to best express what the authors put on the page. Whether one likes it is another matter but I think that statement that the musical inherently has no choreography is overstated. And by the admittedly small number of opinions here from those that have seen it - the choreography does in fact enhance the story and characters. |
