Broadway tickets have gotten so absurdly expensive for the same reason Manhattan/Brooklyn rents got so expensive: Because people keep paying those prices. They may complain but they pay it anyway.
The article says "Broadway is expensive because it can be."
But it's not just producers trying to maximize their return who make it possible. |
