Not for TV. TV moves much quicker than Broadway. One audition for casting director leads to one audition for producers and you can be cast. If the casting director knows you're right, you may not even have to audition for them. Sometimes, you don't even need to audition directly for a producer. Actors can be cast from a CD-tape or self-tape. For a series, it's 4 (sometimes only 3) auditions. 1 for the casting director (which can be skipped if the casting director believes in you), 1 for the producers, and if they like you, you negotiate your contract. Your third audition, with 6.5 season deal in hand, is for the studio execs, If they approve, your fourth and final audition is for the network execs. And if the network approves of you, then the producers can cast you. This can happen in less than a week's time or at most, three weeks time. For Broadway, they audition you over and over and over for months for seemingly no reason at all. Then, sometimes, you have to wait to find if you've been cast. TV and Film move quickly.
