| AARP cast (Celia Keenan-Bolger is only 46 but Jim parson is 51 Jessica Lange is 74) playing young mother 37 and her two children 14 and 12 in the beginning. The play goes over about 20 years so they never reach their actual ages. Why cast like that? Spoilers. Do we really need another AIDS play. As soon as it started opening a box of her dead brother’s belongings I knew this was a AIDS play. This is really Paula Vogels biography play that most writers seem to eventually write. Her brother died of AIDS and she is a lesbian like this character. I don’t know if Paula’s mom was a drunk and rejected them for being gay like Jessica lange’s character. Nicely acted by all three of them but way too old and the subject matter has been done before that this play brought nothing new to the conversation. Only worth seeing for the actors. |
