| I didn't see the production with Jackie Hoffman, but I did get to see her perform "Shy" live in Bryant Park in one of those summer Broadway hour-long concerts, and she was really good -- funny, over the top, with an excellent belt and precisely what was needed on those "Shy" notes. I suppose if Barbra Streisand had come along a few years earlier she would have been very effective in the role. |
