All the contracts are different at the HH (as they are when Roudnbaout produces at the SOndhei or Studio 54 or Todd Haimes, or MTC at the Friedman, or LCT at the Beaumont). These are all LORT not for profit theatres, on less expensive contracts - every union - than Broadway commercial shows. This is a very odd, uneven playing field, considering the limited number of Broadway theatres that exist.

The LORT companies that own Broadway houses can open a play or musical at a much lower cost than a commercial producer can. And if they do this solely through their not for profit contributions etc as part of their season - without any commercial enhancement - then they have no investors to pay back either - if they keep the show in their own building. Salaries just go up in week 17.

It is absurd - I mean really absurd - that it costs $3.75 million to move APPROPROIATE 2.5 blocks. In the West End this would cost, perhaps, $250,000. Truly.
