| I've seen at least 11 actresses as Mrs. Lovett. (When I just counted, I wondered if I was leaving out one or two people, and whether I should count Judy Kaye twice since I saw her in two different productions, but I counted her once.) The one who I think most emphasized Mrs. Lovett's torn emotions and sorrow over what is going to happen to Toby was Dorothy Loudon. Her Mrs. Lovett seemed a jumble of nerves and fears for much of act two. |
