This production to me differs from the original (only seen via TV) in that Mrs. Lovett has that moment of sorrow staring at Toby knowing what she's about to do to him.
In the original I never noticed much regret with Lovett's entrapping Toby. She seems so devoted to Todd and their plot that Toby seems just like an afterthought.
