I googled Broadway Lights Dimmed for Eubie Blake Passing. The Jolson bio came up under the heading RagPiano.com and the website https://www.perfessorbill.com/perform/ajolson/.shtml
The mention of Broadway lights dimming is way at the bottom of a very lengthy article. Near that bottom there is a paragraph with the single sentence "And then . . . Jolie was gone." There follows a double space. The next paragraph begins with "Al Jolson left this world at 10:20 PM . . .". Two sentences later there is the mention of the lights dimming.
I hope that helps to find it. Ironically I was searching for information regarding Eubie Blake. |
