I beg to differ, certainly in this case, but whatever. I'd also point out that if it is about the money, most Broadway actors are adept at cobbling together work (when they are not "working") from a variety of sources rather than just one.

Not being an actor myself (I gave it up at age 8) but knowing a ton of actors at all levels, I have said before and repeat here that what is not taught in acting school is that the gig is that of a salesperson (selling oneself that is) and that if one does not have that sort of mentality, it's a tough road. There is rejection at the very highest levels, and all work is "episodic" (to borrow from the heading). Most actors (in fact, most people in the broader range of "arts") are multi-hyphenates. Folks who need the security of a full time 9 to 5 job are particularly unsuited.
