| This is a very strange year for new Broadway musicals with original scores. Besides Here Lies Love, I very much liked Barry Manilow's Harmony and Adam Guettel's Days of Wine and Roses. However, all 3 shows have closed because each was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars per week. I can not think of a previous year when this has happened. In the past by mid-April I could usually pick out the one or two musicals that were the frontrunners for the Best Musical Tony. This year I haven't a clue. |
