I love "Easy Living" and "The Devil and Miss Jones" and especially love "The More the Merrier", as well as her famous Frank Capra films. Also, the "Talk of the Town" where she's playing opposite both Cary Grant and Ronald Colman is great, "The Whole Town's Talking" with Edward G Robinson, and "A Foreign Affair". But you've probably seen these if you're a big fan. Always thought "The More the Merrier" might work as a musical; it was remade as Cary Grant's last film "Walk Don't Run". Ms. Arthur has films going back to the silent era and some early talkies. At some point, in the early 30s she went back to Broadway and emerged as apparently a much better actress in films. Fortunately, her comedic ability was recognized and talkies featured her wonderfully unique speaking voice.

I wonder if female impressionists used to do imitations of her voice -- but then again, were there many professional (or famous) female impressionists before, say, Marilyn Michaels, who started doing non-"Funny Girl" gigs as a gifted vocal mimic after Arthur was a top movie star and not so current to feature in an act.
