I saw Sat. matinee and was happy to see a new musical theater group launched in L.A. I found the overture thrilling and the over-all quality impressive. Unfortunately, Mulroney was very uncomfortable on stage. While he is a skilled and successful film actor, he currently is not capable of driving this show's principal role. He was very nervous, often forgetting and or flubbing lines, and even his acting was sub-par, never finding the crusty Mack Sennett character. Worst of all, he was seldom "present", he was constantly battling to stay above water. Since all the other performers were skilled stage performers, I couldn't understand this casting. It wasn't fair to the production, the new theatre group, the audience or Mulroney, who clearly was struggling. With more careful casting, I think the All Roads Theater Company can be a great asset to the L.A. theatre scene.
