| Mulroney was maybe slightly better on Saturday night, I think he only flubbed one line, but I agree that his being uncomfortable on stage was palpable. I have always liked him as an actor, so I felt for him and applaud his effort. I totally agree that he was barely one step ahead of where he needed to be and his presence was often overwhelmed by those around him who knew what they were doing. Also, if this show was over two years in the making, he certainly could have put more time into singing lessons. But oh, that overture! How fun to hear it with a packed house all excited to be there and hoping for the best! |
