| This has proven to be a wildly successful hit, pulling max houses, top ticket prices. You can feel that hard-to-achieve thing: the audience loves to love its entertainment value, the way they enjoyed savoring August: Osage. I don't understand why a replacement wasn't sought for Paulson and probably Stoll, who might wish to depart for other work after committing the full season. This is not Vanya or Enemy. It strikes me as a play that has another 6 months with a new star - and we all could make up a list of intriguing possibilities. | |
