In 1966 the entire cast of Cabaret was below the title. Joel Grey was not well known at the time. He had done some TV and been in a couple of obscure film musicals in the 50's. He had also been a replacement in a few Broadway shows prior to Cabaret.
Jill Haworth had made 3 successful films, Exodus, The Cardinal, In Harm's Way, had an Oscar nomination, and had been in a very widely seen TV commercial for a popular soft drink. Gilford and Lenya were highly respected veteran theatre actors. |
